- a joint venture by the four archaeological institutes of Sweden, Finland, Norway, and Denmark

Following the guidelines by the Greek Government (ΦΕΚ 2476/Β/10-6-2021) the Nordic Library at Athens has strict procedures in place to minimize risk to both users and staff.

The number of concurrent users will be restricted to ensure adequate physical distancing and seating has been adjusted accordingly. Users are required to bring their own mask, which must be worn when interacting with others. A distance between people of at least 1,5 meters must be maintained at all times. Books will be quarantined for 72-hours after use. Library computers are not available for use at this time and use of the kitchenette is also restricted.

Welcome to The Nordic Library

The Nordic Library is a joint venture by the four archaeological institutes of Sweden (working in Greece since 1948), Finland (1984), Norway (1989), and Denmark (1992).

The Library contains 40.000 volumes mainly in the field of Greek archaeology and of ancient Greek religion and history, including 450 periodicals.
