Job Vacancy: Head Librarian
The Nordic Library at Athens seeks a full-time Librarian. The Librarian will handle the usual duties related to managing a collection at a research library and will participate in all parts of daily operations. The position reports to the head of the Library Board, who is one of the Directors of the Nordic institutes.

The Library contains 40.000 volumes mainly in the field of Greek archaeology and of ancient Greek religion and history, including 450 periodicals.
You may consult our catalogue on-line.
The Library mainly caters towards Nordic scholars but also welcomes both Greek and foreign scholars who are members of the various research institutions and archaeological schools of Greece.
Nordic scholars who would like to work for a shorter or longer period as residents in the Library (we offer office space and access 24/7 to the library) should contact either the relevant institute or the Library directly.

COVID-19 measures at the library
Following the announcement by the Ministry of Development, the Nordic Library at Athens is pleased to announce the reopening of the library, with strict procedures in place to minimize risk to both users and staff.
The number of concurrent users will be restricted to ensure adequate physical distancing and seating has been adjusted accordingly. Users are required to bring their own mask, which must be worn when interacting with others. A distance between people of at least 1,5 meters must be maintained at all times. Books will be quarantined for 72-hours after use. Library computers are not available for use at this time and use of the kitchenette is also restricted.

The Library has a full subscription to Archaeopress' e-book monograph content.
On the landing page you need only click ‘Continue to browse all digital downloads available through your account’ to complete the login process.
The existing archive has over 200 titles available immediately with approx. 6-12 new titles added each calendar month.
E-books are made available at the same time as print editions.
